Body Hair Transplant BHT

Body Hair Transplant (BHT)

Body Hair Transplant (BHT) is a form of hair restoration that uses follicles taken from body donor sites—commonly the chest, beard, back, or limbs—to transplant into the scalp or to repair scarred areas. The procedure typically uses follicular unit extraction (FUE) style harvesting to remove individual grafts, and is considered when scalp donor hair is insufficient or when surgeons need specific hair characteristics to match local tissue.

Because body hairs have different shaft thickness, curl, and growth cycles compared with scalp hair, surgeons must plan placement and density carefully to achieve a natural appearance. Outcomes can be excellent for filling thin areas or scars, but graft survival and cosmetic match vary by donor site and patient; potential candidates should understand the need for experienced technique, the possibility of multiple sessions, and risks such as scarring or uneven growth.
