PRP Platelet Rich Plasma

PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma)

PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) is an autologous treatment where a small sample of the patient’s blood is processed by centrifugation to concentrate platelets and growth factors, which are then injected into the scalp. The aim is to deliver biologically active signals to the hair follicle environment to promote tissue repair, reduce inflammation and potentially stimulate dormant or miniaturized follicles.

PRP is commonly considered for patterns of hair thinning such as androgenetic alopecia and as an adjunct to surgical hair restoration, but outcomes can vary and multiple sessions are often recommended. The procedure is minimally invasive and side effects are usually mild—temporary pain, swelling or bruising at injection sites—but patients should discuss realistic expectations, contraindications and treatment schedules with a qualified clinician before proceeding.
