What is MCANFollow™?
MCANFollow™ is MCAN’s structured after-return program, offering one year of support to help patients recover safely and confidently from anywhere in the world.
From personalized check-ins to revision support, we ensure that you’re never left alone to navigate your healing. You will receive regular check-ins, practical guidance, and a reliable communication line, helping them move through recovery with clarity and confidence wherever they are.
How MCANFollow™ Works?
48-Hour Nurse Check-In
Within 48 hours of your arrival home, your dedicated nurse — the same professional who supported you during your stay — will contact you. This check-in is to make sure you’re feeling well and to answer any immediate questions.
30 Days of Direct Communication
For the first month, you have direct access to your nurse via text or call. This is when most healing-related complications can emerge, and we’re prepared to guide you through them.
Access to Aftercare Instructions
All patients receive tailored post-operative guides on the MCAN Health website. These include step-by-step recovery information specific to your procedure.

Each patient receives a Net Promoter Score (NPS) survey to evaluate:

After the First Month:
Seamless Transition to Follow-Up Department
Once the first month concludes:
- You can reach out to our Follow-Up Department via email
- Your nurse remains available for guidance when needed
- We continue to monitor and respond to your inquiries up to 12 months post-surgery

Facing a Revision?
We’re Still By Your Side
If you experience a complication or are unhappy with the surgical outcome:
- We contact your surgeon:
If they approve, your revision is performed free of charge under MCANAssurance™. - If the surgeon declines:
We cover the cost of three second opinions from other qualified contracted surgeons of MCAN. - We take action:
If another contracted surgeon agrees a revision is needed, MCAN supports the surgery with a new contracted provider of MCAN.
At MCAN, we stand by the patient; not just the contract.
Important Note: MCANFollow™ Lasts One Full Year
Your structured follow-up service through MCANFollow™ is valid for 12 months from your surgery date.
We believe a full year of support allows enough time to identify, address, and resolve most healing issues while still empowering you to take control of your long-term care.
Surgery may take hours. Healing takes months. And care should last as long as you need it.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Second opinions within MCANFollow are only provided by MCAN-contracted surgeons. You are free to consult any surgeon of your choice independently, but MCAN will not cover the cost.
MCANAssurance only covers costs within the defined coverage limits. You can find more details on our MCANAssurance™ page.
This means your result is considered satisfactory and no revision is needed. The MCANFollow process will be concluded accordingly.
48 hours after arriving home: Your dedicated nurse (the same who assisted you during your stay) will reach out to check on your recovery and address any immediate concerns.
First 30 days: You’ll have direct access via text or call, with multiple check-ins to manage early healing and complications.
After the first month, the support continues through email with follow-up team for up to 12 months.
