Double Bubble Deformity
Double Bubble Deformity describes a visible contour abnormality of the breast in which a second inferior fold or crease becomes apparent below the natural inframammary fold. This produces the appearance of two separate breast contours and can affect symmetry, nipple position, and how clothing fits.
Causes include implant malposition, inadequate pocket creation during augmentation, capsular contracture, progressive breast ptosis, prior surgery or scarring, and significant weight or tissue changes. Management is individualized and may include revision procedures such as implant repositioning, capsulectomy, pocket repair, or mastopexy (breast lift) to restore a single, natural inframammary fold.
