Septorhinoplasty

Septorhinoplasty

Septorhinoplasty is a surgical procedure that combines septoplasty (straightening or repositioning the nasal septum) with rhinoplasty (reshaping the outer nose) to improve both nasal airflow and cosmetic appearance. Surgeons may perform the operation using an open or closed approach under general anaesthesia, using cartilage grafts, osteotomies and soft tissue adjustments to correct structural deformities while supporting the nasal framework.

People choose septorhinoplasty for chronic nasal obstruction due to a deviated septum, after trauma, or to change the nose’s size, shape or proportion while preserving or restoring function. As with any surgery, risks include bleeding, infection, persistent breathing difficulties, altered sensation or the need for revision surgery; recovery commonly involves swelling and bruising for several weeks and gradual refinement of the nasal shape over six to twelve months.
